Is it hot, or is it just me?
School starts again August 18, and I'm not ready for summer to end just yet! Summer has gone by so fast and I don't even have a friggin' tan. For the past few days, I've been so tired that I just kind of zone out whenever I have a minute or two to myself (not necessarily by myself, mind you) and these are the things I've been thinking about: 1) friends and ex-boyfriends. 2) a particularly close friend who's dealing with a serious relationship problem that makes me hurt for him just thinking about it (I'm here for you). 3) some other non-friend stuff. Nothing like being vague, eh?
I'll be gone for a week or so starting in a few days... going to Cali to visit my bro and my new sis-in-law and see some places out there that I've been to before, but I was too young to really remember them. At least it'll be cooler there than it is here... these 100-degree days are too much.
I've been noticing some new screen names in my subpro... who are you people?!? lol.
When you hurt, I hurt.

Funny or not?
I had an unusual experience a couple days ago. I chatted briefly on SCN with some 16-yr.-old guy in California. He seemed fairly nice during our short chat and even seemed a bit concerned that if I knew too much about him too soon he might scare me away. But, he was initially nice and when he asked me for my AIM screen name, I gave it to him (I figured I could always block him or even change screen names if it turned into a problem)... anyway... I was "away" on AIM and when I returned to my computer I found his first message: "hey whore." I was livid! I returned his message voicing my displeasure at his immaturity and then put up another away message. He responded with "I was kidding." When I found that, I messaged back telling him I didn't think it was funny, especially to someone he didn't know, but that really it would never be appropriate with me and if he did it again I would block him... and I said, "You can stop worrying about scaring me away because you have succeeded." Again, he said he was kidding and then added that I was "too damn sensitive." Do you think I overreacted? I don't! Why the heck should I think that was FUNNY?!? I didn't block him yet, but I haven't talked to him since either. I don't think he wants to talk to me now anyway... lol. That really... grrrrrrr.... the nerve of some people!
I leave tomorrow, but I'll let y'all know about my trip when I get back... whether you want to know or not...
I'll have my cell if you have my new #.
I miss you already.

I'm baaaaaaack!
California was awesome! I'd post pics but the camera is in my sis' bag... you know... the ONE that the airline LOST! ...along with all her clothes... and hair stuff... and other stuff... so, yeah... hopefully we'll get it back soon. We have NO pics... it sux. We took some really great ones too. We do have some video though cuz the video cam was in another bag. The video we have is really good... of me... falling into the ocean... twice! I swear, some of those waves had it in for me! hehe. Of course we spent several hours at the beach while we were there.
We stayed at my bro's in Monterey (Army housing in Seaside) and saw a lot of the local sites including the Monterey Bay Aquarium and a local chocolate factory. We went to Point Lobos State Reserve (near Carmel) and hiked around the trails all along the rocky coast and watched the sea otters, harbor seals and sea lions, and then we drove around Pebble Beach and saw tons of deer grazing right on the golf course. Wish I was rich enough to live there!
We drove up to San Francisco and saw the Golden Gate Bridge and the old battery there near the bridge. We'd been to San Francisco once before so we didn't do the cable car ride or the Alcatraz tour this time, but we did go again to some of the more famous streets and hills and took some great pics (if only you could see them!). While we were standing there viewing the bridge my sis-in-law, Blake, in Spanish offered to take a pic of these two guys who were obviously together and taking pics of each other and speaking Spanish. She did and then they insisted we get in a pic with them... lol, so we did! My bro was like... uh... "That's my wife... and my lil' sis!" and pretended to pout. On the same day we went to San Francisco, we also stopped in San Jose and did the Winchester Mystery Mansion tour. That was so kool!
You know what's really funny? My bro showed us his classroom at the DLI where he's taking intense instruction in [a foreign language], so we met some of his teachers and classmates and then we went with them to a restaurant for authentic food (can't say the language, sorry)... anyway, after the meal we went back to his place and he went back to class. He came home after class and announced in the older-brother way he has that Jenna and I need to dress younger... and we asked why... and he said that after we left, some of the guys in his class asked him how old we were and he told them in [that language] and then they said... "No... no.... you must be wrong... tell us in English because you're not getting it right." So then he told them in English (13 and 15) and they were like "OMG... they both look like they're at least 20!" And then they said he looks young for his age... that he looks about 20 too, but he's 22. Lol... I don't think we look that old, but apparently they did and they were all between 18-36 and I guess some of them wanted him to introduce them to us and he said "NO!" Hmmm... I wonder why. I get a lot of people saying I look about 15 to 17 sometimes, but 20?! And a few thought I was the older one... I just thought it was funny cuz my bro does look a lil' young for his age and it bothers him cuz he knows we're always getting told we look about the same age as him... and he's 9 years older than me!
Blake is a great cook so we did a lot of eating and we did stock up at the chocolate factory, you know (lol)... but during the trip we went to aerobics classes with Blake twice, worked out at their house doing Pilates a few times and on my last day there they all convinced me to go running... you'd be so proud... hehe. Besides eating at their place, we also ate at this really fancy Italian seafood place on Cannery Row and at a few other places too. Joel and Blake's dog Chief (a huge, sweet yellow lab) found Jenna's chocolate factory stash and ate ALL her chocolate! I shared mine of course... it was partly my fault... I left the bag untied on the floor and someone (not me) didn't close the door to our room. You'll be happy to know that Chief suffered no ill side-effects from the chocolate, except he was extra hyper for a few hours! Lol.
I bought a lot of souvenirs... some for me and some for a few friends. I found a really cute purse and some jewelry and a Hairy Otter shirt ... Shut up! It's cute! If I bought something for you, you'll be getting it soon.
Empty mailboxes cause great sadness

In transition...
A friend of mine (Nick) gave me a LiveJournal code to start a blog there. Wasn't that nice of him?! Have patience, I'm in transition. I don't like changes. This may take awhile.
Essence (my new LiveJournal)... nothing substantial there yet... I'm working on it.
It's in the mail.
A place to comment on one of my blog topics...
or anything you want to discuss.
